It was done in pencil, and features the priestess from the front of the card.

These are so much fun to do. I really like doing these pencil commissions. I don't get to do these less popular images nearly as much as I would like.

Half Dane proof card commission

This image was done as a commission on the back of the "Half Dane" proof card from Magic the Gathering.

It was done in pencil, and is the face of the doppelgänger seen on the front of the card.

I like doing these pencil commissions better than the oils because I am way more comfortable with a pencil on a piece this small than I am with oils this small.

Planar Gate Commission

This image was done as a commission on the back of the "Planar Gate" proof card from Magic the Gathering.

It was done in pencil and is the face of the man seen in silhouette on the front of the card.

I am more comfortable with pencil than I am with paint and I'm happy with the way this came out.

Magic the Gathering Card "Alter"

This wasn't done in a day, but it is a small work. It is a Magic the Gathering card which is also 2.5 x 3.5 inches.

My client sent me an Island card. He asked me to paint one of my Magic characters on it. Since I paint in oils, I had to prime the area to be painted with several coats, and let it dry before I could start.

These "Alterations" are very popular with Magic players.

If you want an alteration on your cards, send me an email and I'll pop it on the schedule.

Because they are more time consuming than regular ACEO's, the price is $75.00 for each card.

White Pegasus

Here is another image from the Magic the Gathering game. This is the Mesa Pegasus I did for the Alpha set.

Lord of Atlantis

I recently did a larger piece and realized just how much I like working with these materials. So I decided to do some smaller pieces the same way.

Nightmare lived up to her name yesterday.

"Nightmare" is an iconic vintage image I created for Magic the Gathering.

This sketch is done in pencil and measures 4 inches square.

I offered it, along with 2 others, for a discounted price to my newsletter followers. Within 10 minutes all three were sold.

The problem was, that the program allowed this one to be sold several more times.

I have made good with everyone who was effected, and changed the sale set up, but it certainly did disrupt my working schedule.

Secrets Overheard

Still getting used to the Blogger format. I managed to delete this entry today so here it is again.

"Secrets Overheard" is an ACEO sized card (2.5 x 3.5 inches) done in oils and colored pencils.

I did it on canvas paper which was pre-cut to ACEO size. I'm not fond of the canvas texture coming through. It needs some thick paint for something this small.
